In the past ten years the volume of carbon dioxide emitted from the power and heating plants of the ČEZ Group has fallen by 25 %. The group reduced its annual emissions to 24.7m tons from 33.3m tons in 2005. ČEZ has invested CZK 120bn into the modernization of power plants and other ecological measures and will continue to invest money in the future. The most important projects include the completion of the new modern power plant in Ledvice and the modernization of the power plant in Prunéřov.
