O2 Czech Republic has invested hundreds of millions of korunas into the development of the 4G LTE network in Prague via infrastructure company Česká Telekomunikační Infrastruktura (CETIN). In the course of spring and summer 2016, CETIN added a second capacity layer on 534 transmitters, started adding new transmitters to the network and implemented the 2CC technology to some of the existing transmitters. The firm plans to build 250 new transmitters in Prague in the next two years. The firm wants to spend additional tens of millions on the expansion of the 3CC technology in order to get ready for the 5G technology.
