Škoda Vagonka, the subsidiary of Škoda Transportation, will deliver three double-storey EJ 575 trains worth CZK 750m to Lithuanian Railways. The new electric unit was tested in passenger transport on the Vilnius – Kaunas. The firm plans to hand over two additional units in spring 2017. Škoda Transportation’s Vice President Sales Ivo Gurňák has stated that the trains for crossborder transport from Vilnius to Minsk, Byelorussia were partially adapted. He has added that Škoda Vagonka had previously manufactured 10 electric trains for Lithuanian Railways.
