The revenues of the Brno Public Transit Company (DPMB) totaled CZK 975m in 2014, up CZK 3m y/y (+0.3 %). The ratio of prepaid tickets and one-off fares was 62.7:37.3. Revenues, especially from prepaid tickets, totaled CZK 685m at DPMB stores, CZK 307m of which was paid using payment cards. In a CIANEWS survey the Brno transit company’s spokeswoman Linda Hailichová said that almost 1.9m SMS tickets were sold last year, generating revenues exceeding CZK 44m, which is almost 11 % of all one-off tickets. She said a pilot project is now testing machines that let passengers pay for tickets using contactless cards inside transit vehicles.
