The ministry for regional development of the Czech Republic (MMR) estimates that the total sum of money underspent from European funds for this year will reach between EUR 18bn and EUR 23bn. When including side effects, the ministry even works with the sum of EUR 41bn. Minister Karla Šlechtová said that if some risks are not managed, and for example large transport construction is not carried out, the sum of underspent money may in the extreme case even reach as much as CZK 85bn.
