The estimated total losses of the Czech Republic for the year 2014 caused by illegal cigarette distribution reaches approximately CZK 1.33bn. This is according to an analysis by KPMG. The losses of the EU are estimated at EUR 11.5bn. The percentage of illegal cigarettes in the total cigarette consumption in the Czech Republic reaches 3.1 %. The minimum excise tax on a thousand cigarettes reached EUR 86.18 as of January 2015.
