In 2014, the Office for the Protection of Competition (ÚOHS) imposed first-instance sanctions in the amount of CZK 228m compared to CZK 25m in 2013 and CZK 190m in 2012. The Office issued 52 decisions on mergers compared to 36 in 2013. It also initiated 47 administrative procedures on mergers in 2014 which is by twelve more than in 2013.
