The Czech trade surplus widened more than analysts forecast in January as exports grew faster than imports on renewed demand for vehicles and machinery abroad. The surplus widened to CZK 13.1bn from CZK 2.8bn in December, the Czech Statistical Office said Monday. “Improved orders from abroad have been driving up output and exports” while low domestic consumption and investment “kept inhibiting imports,” ČSOB analyst Petr Dufek said.
