There were totally 24,979 start-ups registered in the Czech Republic as of the end of 2014. Start-ups account for totally 6.1% of all firms in the business sector. This stems from the data from Bisnode. The highest amount of new firms in the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary is formed in wholesale and retail. Firms from professional scientific and technical fields dominate in Slovakia.
