Minister of Finance Andrej Babiš (ANO) wants the ministry to prepare a simpler tax system following the example set by global practice. This was stated by minister Babiš upon the presentation of the MOJE daně (MY Taxes) project. The outline of the new act on income tax that the ministry is working on will be presented in September 2017. The norm could gain effect from January 2020. The goal is to form a concept that each government will be able to customise for its policy. The law itself will thus be clear of any exceptions and sector policies and will not contain any parameters (incl. tax rate). The ministry is also readying tax self-assessment and new portal for tax administration.
