On May 18, 2015, the European Commission (EC) approved the 2014-2020 Rural Development Program totalling EUR 2.14bn. The program focuses on investments into competitiveness, innovations by agricultural companies and the creation of job positions. Minister for Regional Development Karla Šlechtová (ANO) has stated that the fund’s utilization is an impulse for further development of the Czech economy. Planned benefits include 1,400 projects in supported companies, 1,850 newly formed job positions and the investment of EUR 25.8m for the production from renewable energy resources.
