Brno-based science centre CEITEC’s laboratories started the full operation on September 15, 2016. Scientists will focus on the research of advanced materials, nanotechnology, and micro-technology. Czech Minister of Education, Youth and Sports (MŠMT) Kateřina Valachová (ČSSD) said that the ministry had invested CZK 6.5bn in the centre with help of the operational programme Research and Development for Innovations. According to her words, the ministry has also prepared the project CEITEC 2020 in the total amount of CZK 1bn in the framework of the national Sustainability Programme II.
