He may be best known as an amiable bedtime-story character, but Krtek (the little mole) is also being used as a shrewd businessman, and his franchise is set to take on an Asian giant. The famous Czech cartoon figure is to be beamed onto television sets across China, after a recent Czech delegation traveled in his name to Beijing. The project has been spearheaded by Czech-owned international finance group PPF, who gave the Chinese CCTV television network the rights to play the Krtek films.
