The new tender for the completion of Temelín nuclear power plant could start before the end of 2017. Power utility ČEZ has confirmed that it plans to pick the winner by 2019 or 2020. ČEZ plans to float a subsidiary into which it will transfer all documentation and permits obtained during the tender cancelled in spring 2014. According to the spokesperson for ČEZ, Ladislav Kříž, no final decision has been made yet. As ČIANEWS has previously informed, the original bidders for the completion of Temelín (MIR.1200, Areva, Westinghouse) were joined by South Korean KEPCO. China has also expressed its interest in the tender through Vice Prime Minister Zhang Gaoli.
