The investment into the modernisation of heating plants in the Czech Republic totalled more than CZK 16bn over the last three years. The total investment into the upgrade is planned at CZK 20bn until 2020. The executive director of the Heating Association of the Czech Republic (TS ČR), Martin Hájek, has stated that additional billions of korunas will have to be invested into heating plants with output under 50 MW. More than 20 km of steam distributions were replaced with hot water and heat networks in 2015 within investments into the heat networks. Investment costs totalled CZK 600m.
