A real phenomenon of booming sales of films on cheap DVDs has been reshaping the Czech entertainment market for the last two years. The new products have been driving DVD rental shops out of the market. Experts, however, say that the real problems of the Czech movie market lie elsewhere, in a confusing legal environment that actually fails to prevent piracy and limits the growth of local film production.
