Czech government approved the proposed amendment to the act on the State Transport Infrastructure Fund (SFDI) on August 26, 2015. Minister of Transport Dan Ťok (ANO) has stated that the law’s goal is to enable SFDI to invest also into sectors from which European funds may newly be drawn from the 2014-2020 Transport Operational Programme and the Connecting Europe Facility. Minister Ťok wants to use the funding from SFDI e.g. for rail transport (incl. municipal), local roads and sidewalks, support for transshipment points and/or the building in the Czech port in Hamburg.
