In the second quarter of 2015, 56,393 heads of cattle were slaughtered in the Czech Republic, up 3.8%. There was an 11.4% increase in the category of heifers and a 9.4% increase in the category of cows. There was a 2.5% drop in the category of bulls. Overall, 16,738 tonnes of beef and veal was produced, up 3.5%. These figures were published by the Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ).
