Beginning January 1, 2015 Czech mining company OKD merges its plants Darkov and Karviná in the company Důlní závod 1. It will also rename companies Důl ČMS to Důlní závod 2 and Důl Paskov to Důlní závod 3. The changes are part of the restructuring launched in 2013 with a goal to make the operation more efficient and support the sustainability of the company’s business. According to OKD Operating Manager Pavel Hadrava, the changes will likely lead to a growth in the productivity and cost cuts.
