Since its inception in 2011, the CEE Cup has received the full support of the Czech Football Association (FAČR). The tournament focuses on “Respect”, “Fair Play” and “Competitiveness”, all of which are very important for today’s youth players.
Talking about the CEE Cup, Otakar Mestek, Director of Non-Professional and Youth Football at the FACR said:
“We are very happy to support the CEE Cup, as it supports the development of youth football which is vitally important for the game and, of course, it takes place in Prague and hosts some of the best young teams from Central Europe. We believe that tournaments such as the CEE Cup help to integrate and develop Czech football on an international level, and that is very important for young footballers as they have the unique opportunity of playing against prestigious foreign teams and gaining valuable experience that can be used later in their professional first league careers”.
In addition to supporting young footballers, the CEE Cup also supports charity and every year it donates 20% of the income received from sponsors and 50% from each ticket sold to UNICEF in order to support the UNICEF Schools for Africa project.
