CTE Tourism, the organisers of the annual youth football tournament known as the “CEE Cup” have today introduced the partners for this year’s event and have also announced that UNICEF will become the title partner. The UNICEF CEE Cup tournament starts on Sunday, 22nd July, and will run for a week, with the Grand Final taking place on Sunday, 29th July. CTE Tourism has also confirmed that FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) is supporting the event.

The UNICEF CEE Cup is an international football tournament for top youth teams (under 19) from Central & Eastern Europe (CEE). This year is already building to be an even bigger and better event than last year, in no small part due to its partners, that include the insurance company Allianz, sporting stores Hervis, property and facility management company TVO Europe and leading European TV channel specializing in the broadcasting of American sports, ESPN Classic.

Part of this year‘s tournament will be a competition for school kids (aged 10–16) to be known as the Vrsovicky dloubak. Kids taking part need to upload a video of themselves taking a penalty and/or carrying out some football tricks on a specially created Facebook page. The winners will then be chosen by a public vote on Facebook. First prize in category 14-16 is being given by Allianz, who will arrange for the winner of the Vrsovicky dloubak to participate in the Allianz Junior Football Camp 2012 in the Bayern Munich Arena in Germany, plus they will also have the possibility of meeting and greeting the members of the German national team currently playing for Bayern Munich..

Dalibor Šajar, Director of Marketing and Market Management, Allianz, explains:

“The participation in this camp is an exceptional experience for the winning player as they will get to train with 50 girls and boys from 15 countries under the supervision of some of the FC Bayern Munchen stars. Together with other young European footballers, they will learn about different game styles as well as the cultures of their new friends from countries such as Brazil, Hong Kong, India, South Korea and Thailand,“.

The final game of the UNICEF CEE Cup will be broadcast on TV Eurosport. Other media partners supporting the event are the magazine Hattrick, online portal www.efotbal.cz, Radio Regina, online server CTK – www.sportovninoviny.cz, and the magazine ProFootball.

The tournament focuses on “Respect”, “Fair Play” and “Competitiveness”, all of which are very important for today’s youth players. The organisers have already confirmed 12 participating teams.
