OpenCall, the new low-cost prepaid GSM operator that was recently launched by DH Telecom, has announced today its new lower pricing for calls to Slovakia, which will align with the rates of local calls. OpenCall is the first operator on the Czech market that has taken the next step and leveled the pricing of calls within the Czech Republic with calls abroad.
According to the latest census data (Czech Statistical Office, 2011), this level of service between the two countries is in great demand: there are 150,000 Slovak nationals living in the Czech Republic including 107,000 people working full-time, as well as 20,000 students completing their studies (Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic, 2011). Lower rates mean that it will be much easier for all of these individuals to keep in touch with friends and family.
From October 1st, the new OpenCall prices to Slovakia will come into effect. The calls with the OpenCall Plus plan will cost customers only 1.90 CZK/min, while the basic OpenCall Easy plan will be 2.50 CZK/min. These rates are the same as for calls within the Czech Republic.
Speaking about this initiative, Vincent Charollais, Managing Director of DH Telecom, commented:

In November, OpenCall will expand its services to include roaming in Slovakia, with received calls costing only 2.18 CZK/min, and basic calling 3.50 CZK/min. The prices for OpenCall services will be the lowest on the current market.
OpenCall is the retail brand of DH Telecom and operates on the Vodafone network infrastructure, providing a full portfolio of mobile services. OpenCall’s starting packages can be purchased both on-line and from selected retailers. There is also a limited offer to get a free SIM Card on the OpenCall website.
