Prague, September 6th, 2012: The organizer of the LawTech Europe Congress 2012, E-Discovery Europe s.r.o. (“E-Discovery Europe”), has officially confirmed today that Richard Susskind, the world-famous specialist on the use of IT by lawyers and other professionals, and the impact of technology on government, will be the keynote speaker of the LawTech Europe Congress 2012. The congress will take place on 12th November, 2012, in the Clarion Congress Hotel Prague, and is expected to attract up to 700 delegates from all over the world.
The internationally renowned legal market futurist, consultant and writer, Richard Susskind, has been signed up to deliver the opening keynote speech at the LawTech Europe Congress 2012, and he will also be participating in one of the panel sessions in the afternoon. In his keynote, Susskind will identify the key drivers of societal change, such as the economic downturn, and consider how these will impact on the legal marketplace. He will also sketch out the new legal landscape as he predicts it, including the changing role of law firms, and in-house lawyers, and the likelihood of future virtual hearings and online dispute resolution.

Professor Richard Susskind OBE is an author, speaker, and independent adviser to international law firms, in-house legal departments, and national governments. He has worked on legal technology for over 30 years. He lectures internationally and has been invited to speak in over 40 countries and addressed audiences (in person and electronically), numbering more than 200,000. He has written over 100 columns for English newspaper “The Times”, and numerous books, including “The Future of Law” (1996), “The End of Lawyers?” and “Tomorrow’s Lawyers” (due in January 2013), and his work has been translated into more than 10 languages.
He is also President of the Society for Computers and Law, Chair of the Advisory Board of the Oxford Internet Institute, and IT Adviser to the Lord Chief Justice in the UK. He holds professorships at a number of UK universities, including Oxford University, UCL, Strathclyde University, and Gresham College.
The LawTech Europe Congress is expected to attract Czech and international law and technology firms, regulatory bodies, technology experts and law schools who will, for the first time ever, have the opportunity to discuss legal technology topics within the region and framework of Central Europe.
