Prague, May 22nd, 2013 (Press Release), Kempinski Hotel Hybernská Prague, one of the city’s leading 5 star luxury hotels, officially welcomed this year’s summer season and celebrated the opening of the Kempinski’s unparalleled oasis in the centre of Prague, by hosting a Gala Evening on Thursday, 16th May.
Despite the brief rain showers early in the evening, the annual event, which had a ‘Polo theme’, managed to exceed guests’ expectations once again, and ushered in the season with all of the glitz and glamour that the Kempinski exhibits so well. A number of celebrities and famous names made an appearance, including model and moderator Agata Pracharova (Hanychova), fashion designer Jitka Klett, Ceska Miss 2007 Katerina Sokolova, Ceska Miss 2013 Gabriela Kratochvilova, Zuzana Humpolcova, the author of the Czech Republic’s newest “cookbook for men”, racecar driver Jan Charouz, and Czech Olympic skier, Martin Jaks. Actor and voice-over artist, Libor Boucek, moderated the evening and helped to make it an unforgettable experience for all who attended.
One of the evening’s highlights was an elegant fashion show featuring a stunning collection by Beata Rajska from her Spring collection. The models, made up in a 1920s style to match their outfits and the overall general ambience, used the Kempinski’s beautiful outdoor staircase as their catwalk, and the whole show was beautifully back-dropped by the lighting and music that set off the whole evening. The collection was inspired by the game of Polo. Guests also had the opportunity to taste delicious culinary creations prepared by the Kempinski’s exceptional Executive Chef, Marek Fichtner, and his team. Throughout the evening, guests were also able to sample specialties from the event’s sponsors, such as Champagne from Veuve Cliquot, cocktails from Chivas Regal, refreshing wines from Vino Markuzzi and some of the world’s finest cognacs by Maxime Trijol, presented by the President, Jean-Jacques Trijol himself.
Commenting on the event, Peter Knoll, General Manager of the Kempinski Hotel Hybernska Prague, said: “The Garden Opening is always one of my favourite Kempinski events, and I am always so proud of our staff for working so hard and so long to put it all together. This years’ “polo” theme certainly made for some interesting attire, and I think that the two polo horses, courtesy of Gill Polo, were also a great draw. We are very happy to have had such amazing sponsors this year and, on top of all of that, for the second year in a row, I think the Hastens bed in the middle of the garden made a great impression on our guests!”
The evening was topped off with a spectacular draw, where prices could be won from S.J. Dupont, Gallery Manto, Dusak Jewellery, Hajek Diamonds and Kempinski Hotel River Park Bratislava.
The Kempinski Hybernská Prague will host a variety of events in its garden throughout the summer, including its new “Breakfast in the Garden” concept, that is available every day from 9am to 11am, as well as live piano performances to complement its regular garden BBQs on Thursday evenings (starting from May 30th). Guests can also enjoy the new seasonal menu in the garden, the Two Steps Bar, or the Le Grill Restaurant, anytime from noon to late evening
