Prague: The organizing committee of the U19 football tournament for top Central and Eastern European teams, known as the GENERALI CEE CUP, has announced that the 5th edition of the tournament will take place in Prague from the 22nd of July and will finish on the 29th of July 2015 with the Grand Final.
One of the main attractions of the tournament is going to be the participation of the legendary Brazilian club Fluminense FC. “It will be a pleasure for our club to play at this important tournament in Europe.” added Egar Maba, the Fluminense Youth Academy Supervisor. Among other first time participants will be Macedonian Pandev Academy or Australian Olympic FC from Brisbane. Traditionally, the Prague teams Sparta and Slavia will also take part as will the last year’s finalists ETO Györi and AS Trenčín. Other big names on the list will be FK Sarajevo or Red Star Belgrade.
The upcoming tournament will have several changes in its entertainment program, which will raise the attractiveness for young people, families with kids and football fans of all ages.
Roberto De Blasio, the director of the GENERALI CEE Cup organizing committee has said: “Every year we try to increase the attractiveness of the participating teams and we were luckily able to do that for the upcoming fifth edition. Thanks to the teams like Fluminense, Red Star or Australian Olympic FC the tournament will be one of the most attractive football events in the Czech Republic of the year.”
The overall number of teams, 12, will be divided into 4 groups. The organizing committee, however, has one more surprised for the fans in a form of another exotic extra-regional team.
The organizing committee was also invited to one of the most important football conferences, the Wyscout Forum, taking place at the London Emirates Stadium from the 16th to 17th of December. Wyscout Forum is an extensive networking event that connects hundreds of the world’s best football clubs together with agents and players’ agencies. The invitation confirms that the GENERALI CEE CUP has become one of the most significant international football events.
