Do you know what Europe tastes like? Do you like French wine, Belgian beer and Dutch gouda? You can indulge in these and other international flavours today and tomorrow at a festival that aims to show the diversity of European cultures.

The event entitled Ochutnejte Evropu (Taste Europe) takes place in Prague on the occasion of the European Summit of Regions and Cities. Besides the culinary part, which may be the most tempting, the festival presents traditional handicrafts and typical products from more than 40 European regions.

The tasting will take place at the bottom of the Wenceslas Square, at Old Town Square and in surrounding areas. The local products available include pork fare, home-made pies, lagers and wine from the Prague vineyard Máchalka.

A series of music shows will accompany the culinary experience. Czech Republic’s Gipsy.cz and Sunset Blvd. will play tonight with Sifu Versus from Greece and The Hotclub of Dublin. Folklore music performances on Saturday will highlight local groups and foreign guests from Israel, Moldova, Romania and Slovakia. A circus show at Old Town Square and smaller festivities in several Prague districts will close the event on Sunday. For the full programme, see here.
