Prague, June 17 (CTK) – The 16th Nine Gates festival of Czech-German-Jewish culture will present the play A Prayer for Katerina Horovitzova in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland within the international project Lustig Train – Freedom Train 2015, the festival’s head Pavel Chalupa said Wednesday.

The festival’s main motive is the 70th anniversary of Victory this year, Chalupa said.

The train will start in Bohusovice nad Ohri near Terezin (Theresienstadt) on June 18 and pass through Warsaw, Oswiecim (Auschwitz), Zilina, Bratislava, Cesky Krumlov and Prague, among others.

The play may be also performed in Austria and Germany.

Based on a novel by Czech writer Arnost Lustig, the play tells a tragic story of Jews sent to a concentration camp in 1943.

The Lustig Train has three carriages – two freight carriages, in which the stage set and other equipment are stored, and one theatre carriage that is transformed into the stage. The audience sits outside the theatre carriage during the performance.
