Prague, Aug 26 (CTK) – An exhibition on the history and culture of the Central Bohemia Region will be opened in the Sichuan province on September 9, on the occasion of a visit by regional governor Milos Petera and other representatives to China, regional gallery director Jana Sorfova told CTK Wednesday.
The Central Bohemia Gallery has prepared the display to present the region as an attractive tourist destination with rich cultural heritage. It will focus on particular local artists, writers and composers as well as historical landmarks.
“The aim of this exhibition is to get the Chinese public acquainted with the history and culture of the Central Bohemia Region, its significant cultural sights and personalities,” Petera (Social Democrats, CSSD) said.
Visitors can also see true copies of archaeological finds from the region and of the imperial crown as well as facsimiles of old manuscripts and documents.
Part of the exhibition is to show the life of ordinary people in the past, including period furniture and textiles from the first half of the 20th century.
The exhibition in the capital of the Sichuan province will run through October 12.
The Central Bohemia management wants to attract more Chinese tourists to the region. Petera said he expected more of them to head for Central Bohemia mainly after the introduction of a regular air connection with China.
