Koprivnice, North Moravia, Dec 27 (CTK) – The Old Timer museum of veteran cars in Koprivnice has acquired and put on display a U.S. Cadillac 353 car made in 1930, a favourite model of mafia boss Al Capone, the museum´s owner Jaroslav Sery has told CTK.
The eight-cylinder vehicle weighs about two tonnes and it could attain the speed of up to 125 km per hour.
These cars were produced mainly in black colour, but also in red and dark blue. The Koprivnice museum has a red one in its collection.
“It is a wonderfully made car in its original state. It has the original engine as well as the original chassis,” Sery said.
The Cadillac comes from the Harrah Collection Museum, the USA.
“The museum sold out its collection recently. Such an exhibit is rare, even in America,” Sery said.
Another rare acquisition on display in Koprivnice is an English-made Alvis TA14 racing car from 1948.
“Our car is the only piece of this model in the Czech Republic. In Europe, I know about a similar one, but it differs in certain aspects,” Sery said.
