The Czech Philharmonic, which gave two concerts at Carnegie Hall this weekend as part of its first season with Semyon Bychkov as its music director, programmed Mahler’s “Resurrection” Symphony on Sunday to observe the centennial of Czech independence from the Austrian Empire. But the symphony ended up being poignantly resonant for an entirely different reason.
