While Prime Mnister Petr Nečas has been retreating from the threatened harsh austerity measures that sparked it, the main opposition Social Democrats have garnered the signatures needed to force a vote of no confidence in the government. ČSSD party leader Bohuslav Sobotka said 55 signatures, five more than required, had been obtained from lower house members of parliament with the vote like to take place next week.
