Prague, Oct 20 (CTK) – The Mayors and Independents (STAN) will not run anywhere in a coalition with TOP 09 in the Czech regional election, STAN acting leader Petr Gazdik told journalists Tuesday.
STAN and TOP 09 are negotiating on their joint candidates for the Senate election, Gazdik said.
STAN wants small centrist parties to be integrated for the regional elections due next year, he added.
They want to unveil their joint manifesto at the November programme conference, Gazdik said.
STAN has set as its target to have its candidates elected in all regional assemblies and in some of the regions, it wants to achieve the victory, Gazdik said, citing the Central Bohemian, Zlinsky and Liberecky regions.
STAN is also negotiating on the support for independent candidates with the Civic Democratic Party (ODS) and Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL) , he added.
STAN and TOP 09 have concluded a pact on cooperation on national level that is valid until early 2017. They also have a joint deputy group.
Insiders say the two parties may soon end their alliance. Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL) are the likeliest new partners for STAN.
