Prague, Nov 30 (CTK) – Czech freestyle skiing two-time world champion and four-time World Cup winner Tomas Kraus has ended his career at the age of 41, Kraus himself said at a farewell party on Monday.

After the femur fracture last winter, Kraus was planning to try and race again in this season.

But now he decided to end his career.

“I am putting an end to my career,” Kraus said. “Some expected it ten years ago, others five years ago. Some said two years ago, the end will come soon and now it came,” he added.

In 2002, Kraus won the first World Cup race. In all, he won it 15 times, having gained the small crystal globe for freestyle skiing in 2005, 2006, 2009 and 2009.

In 2005 and 2007, he was the world champion.

Kraus was also an alpine skier. He is a triple champion of the Czech Republic in slalom and two-time champion in giant slalom.
