Slavia Prague is the champion of the Czech First League for the first time in eight years, and for the fourth time since Czechoslovakia broke up. The victory was quite a turn around from the situation a few years ago, when the team faced severe financial difficulties in the fall of 2010 and had to cut key players and staff.
