Russian steel maker Evraz said on Friday it could halt some operations at its plant in the Czech Republic if it cannot resolve a dispute over raw material supplies with ArcelorMittal. “We are working right now with the management of Vítkovice Steel to evaluate a possibility of a temporary or permanent shutdown of the steel shop at Vítkovice,” said Pavel Tatyanin, head of Evraz’s international operations. The steel mill employs 320 people out of 1,260 at Evraz’s Czech unit, but a close could affect many more jobs in the supply chain.
