Czech universities have a lot of work to do in terms of providing for the needs of disabled students, and the problems are just beginning to be diagnosed. Only about 1,200 students with handicaps attend Czech universities and one cause for the low numbers is insufficient support for their special needs, according to a study commissioned by the Education Ministry last year.
