Prague, Sept 7 (CTK) – A total of 1,104 refugees have stayed in the three Czech detention centres as from Monday, and 264 beds are still available, the Interior Ministry writes on a new website it has launched Monday with the aim to provide current information about migration.

The centres are in Bela pod Bezdezem, central Bohemia, Zastavka u Brna, south Moravia, and Vysni Lhoty, north Moravia.

In case of a large migration wave, the ministry has prepared further reserve capacities in Postorna, south Moravia, with 300 beds in a tent camp.

Another 300 beds could be established in south Moravia, the ministry writes.

It also plans to open new detention centres in Drahonice, north Bohemia, and Balkova, west Bohemia.

Apart from statistics, the ministry wants to offer information about the integration of foreigners, important documents and answers to questions related to migration on its new website.

“We do not want to spread panic. On the contrary, we want to calm down people. I am convinced that our country has coped with the situation and is ready to cope with it in future as well,” Interior Minister Milan Chovanec (Social Democrats, CSSD) writes on the website.

The ministry has released fresh information about the results of the police checks focusing on the uncovering of migrants.

From mid-June until the end of last week, the police uncovered 2,682 such persons, including 73 this Sunday alone.
