Prague, Oct 5 (CTK) – Asylum seekers and foreigners with work permit must have the same conditions as Czech workers, Josef Stredula, chairman of the Czech CMKOS union umbrella organisation, said after a tripartite meeting Monday.
The Confederation of Industry said previously Czech firms would have jobs for 5000 refugees.
The tripartite, which is comprised of representatives from the government, employers and unions, discussed migration Monday.
Confederation of Industry President Jaroslav Hanak said the tripartite would probably deal with the migration issue at every meeting.
The unions and employers’ representatives should get information about the situation in this area as quickly as legislators, deputies and senators.
Trade unionists appreciated the employers’ approach and offer of jobs for refugees.
They, however, disagreed with speaking about “work for migrants.” They must have a position equal to Czech employees on the labour market, Stredula said.
The unionists also minded xenophobic stances in Czech society.
Stredula pointed out that the current number of refugees in the Czech Republic made up only a faction of those that the country had accepted in the past.
The tripartite Monday also discussed the education system.
Hanak said technical fields at universities should be made advantageous and linked to the needs of the labour market. In regional schools, the government and regions should cooperate and the teaching of mathematics and foreign languages should be improved, he added.
Tripartite always focuses on the situation in the drawing of EU subsidies. The Czech Republic will not manage to draw the whole sum for the programme period.
Hanak mentioned that the Czech Republic would return up to 80 billion crowns to Brussels. However, the money should not be spent an any cost since the failed projects could have to be paid off from the state budget then, he added.
