Prague, March 22 (CTK) – The Czech Republic offers Greece ten asylum experts and 30 police officers to help it manage the migrant crisis, Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka told the Chamber of Deputies on Tuesday.
He said after the EU and Turkey signed a migrant agreement last week, attention must be paid to the developments in Greece.
The country needs police and administrative forces, Sobotka said during a debate on migration.
According to a draft resolution of the Chamber of Deputies, the considerations about the introduction of a standing mechanism for the redistribution of refugees among EU states should again be rejected.
The agreement between the EU and Turkey is to halt the massive uncontrolled influx of migrants to Europe via the Balkan Peninsula.
Sobotka said the networks of people smugglers will be deprived of their sense, the exchange of migrants based on the one-for-one principle will secure a more effective aid to the war-devastated Syria.
Sobotka also pointed out the effect of the closure of the Balkan migrant route.
“The numbers of those getting to further European countries have markedly decreased,” Sobotka said.
If new ones appear, Europe must close them, too, Sobotka said.
On Monday, the government approved a 100 million crown support for the European countries that are confronted with the migrant wave.
Sobotka said the first 20 million crowns will be sent to managing the situation along the Greek-Macedonian border.
The draft agreement also says it is necessary to ensure the protection of the outer border of the EU and humanitarian aid to refugees outside the EU.
