Jihlava, South Moravia, Aug 28 (CTK) – A powered hang glider crashed and its pilot, 41, did not survive the accident that occurred on Sunday morning, Czech regional police spokeswoman Dana Cirtkova has told journalists.
The police are investigating the exact causes of the tragic event, Cirtkova said.
The hang glider got stuck in a tree and the man fell to a road near the village of Rybna, she added.
The tragedy occurred at around 7:00.
“The man was found without any trace of life at a second class road,” Cirtkova said. The road is now closed and the police are diverting the traffic to other communications, she added.
“The police have found that the hang glider took off from the Jihlava – Hencov airport. Further circumstances of the fall of the machine as well as the exact time of the pilot’s death are being investigated,” Cirtkova said.
