ŠKODA TRANSPORTATION will produce 14 fully low-floor For City Classic tramways for the public transit company in Eskisehir, Turkey. The contract is worth over EUR 26m. The Plzeň-based company’s board of directors chairman, Tomáš Ignačák, has stated that the tramways will be delivered within 19 months from contract signatures. The vehicles will be equipped with powerful traction batteries thanks to which they may be operated on a planned section without trolley lines, more than 1km long. ŠKODA TRANSPORTATION follows up on an earlier contract for the delivery of 72 trams for the city of Konya, Turkey.
