The Czech government told the EU on Tuesday that it hoped to ensure ratification of the bloc’s Lisbon Treaty by drafting a declaration that would satisfy last-minute objections raised by President Václav Klaus. Meanwhile, the Constitutional Court said in Prague that it would hold a hearing on 27 October on a legal challenge to the treaty submitted by 17 Eurosceptic Czech senators.
