Prague, Aug 31 (CTK) – One hundred young professionals and students from more than 50 countries will participate in the 8th Summer School of Migration Studies that will be held in Prague on September 4-10, Jan Schroth, from the Prague office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) told CTK on Wednesday.
The IOM organises the Summer School in cooperation with the Faculty of Science of Charles University.
Adrian Bailey, the Dean of Social Sciences at Hong Kong Baptist University, will present a global view of immigration. Tomas Urubek will present the view of the asylum and migration section of the Czech Interior Ministry, and Czech Development Agency director Michal Kaplan will talk about the relation between migration and development.
Representatives of humanitarian organisations working with refugees in Jordan and Syria will speak of the situation in the Middle East.
The migration crisis will be discussed on the last day of the event.
The IOM has been operating in the Czech Republic since 1998.
