Prague, Feb 2 (CTK) – Customs officers at Prague´s international airport have uncovered 47 shipments of drugs since the beginning of the year, compared with only 29 cases in the same period of 2015 and a mere 14 in 2014, they informed CTK in a press release on Tuesday.
In addition to narcotics and psychotropic substances, the six packages with banned steroids were found.
The drugs uncovered were mainly marijuana and hashish among natural drugs and ecstasy and metamphetamine among synthetic ones, Sarka Miskovska, the customs officers´ spokeswoman. said.
The packages with steroids mainly contained the steroid hormone DHEA.
Last year, the customs officers caught the same number of packages with anabolics while there were only three in 2014.
The shipment of any quantity of natural or synthetic drugs and anabolics is qualified as the crime of unauthorised production and other handling of narcotic and psychotropic substances and poisons and unauthorised production and other handling of substances with hormonal effects.
