Kostelecka Lhota, East Bohemia, April 1 (CTK) – Czech President Milos Zeman has accepted the invitation to the opening ceremony of the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, he told a press conference organised after his visit to the Hradec Kralove Region on Friday.
The opening ceremony will take place on August 5.
Zeman said he will go to the Olympics after his visit to Latin America.
He said negotiations about the schedule of his Latin American trip were underway.
Originally, Zeman planned to go to Latin America last autumn, but the visit was postponed.
Czech Presidential Office foreign policy chief Hynek Kmonicek said previously Zeman is likely to visit Mexico and Colombia.
Zeman did not say which Latin American countries he was going to visit.
