About 200,000 Czechs have left the Czech Republic since the fall of the communist regime in 1989, expert estimates suggest. Currently, there are about 2.2 million people of Czech ethnic origin abroad. The Czech Republic could try to make use of their skills and motivate them to return home, experts say. The Re-Turn project focuses on support for Czechs’ return to their homeland. Twelve organisations from seven countries, including the Czech Republic, cooperate on the project.
