Prague, Nov 5 (CTK) – Fifteen Czech volunteers will leave for the Greek island of Lesbos next week within the initiative in aid of people flying their homes, coordinator Lucie Slovakova told CTK Thursday, adding that they will stay there for ten days.

The volunteers, including a physician and two divers, will work on the seaside and also on the sea.

Humanitarian aid in the form of warm clothing and medical materiel will also be sent to the island.

Some of the volunteers are members of the Czech Team group that is now ending its activities at the Serbian-Croatian border crossing Berkasovo-Bapska.

The volunteers will leave Prague for Lesbos on Friday, November 13 and most of them will return on November 22. They will have a boat at their disposal. The group plans further journeys to the area.

Slovakova said the participants pay their air tickets and accommodation themselves, the other costs will be covered from donor collections.

The initiative in aid of people flying their homes has 3200 members. More than 1500 of them have already worked abroad, most of them at Berkasovo-Bapska.

The initiative plans further activities along the Balkan migrant route.
