Prague, April 6 (CTK) – The Czech Republic and Jordan agree on the attitude to the peace process in the Middle East, President Vaclav Klaus and King of Jordan Abdallah II, currently on a two-day visit to the Czech Republic, said Monday.
Klaus and Abdallah II said they wanted to extend their excellent relations on the political level to the economic sphere.
“We are greatly interested in jointly looking for and finding new markets. I hope Jordan will be one of the markets (for Czech manufacturers) and vice versa,” Klaus said.
Abdallah II said he was in Prague in order to intensify good relations with the Czech Republic.
Abdallah II said at the time of global recession, the relations should translate into a synergy between the Jordan and Czech private sectors.
Abdallah II. also stressed that the two countries share their position on the Middle East problem.
He voiced the hope that this year would see talks between Israel and Palestinians.
He thanked the Czech Republic for its role it was playing as the country presiding over the EU, trying to make all Middle East countries take part in the talks on peace and stability in the region.
Abdallah II stays in the Czech Republic until Tuesday, when he leaves for Bratislava to meet Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic.
