Prague, Sept 6 (CTK) – Czech President Milos Zeman will receive Austrian presidential candidate Norbert Hofer at the beginning of next week, Zeman’s spokesman Jiri Ovcacek confirmed to Parlamentni listy on Tuesday.
Ovcacek said Hofer had asked for the meeting.
Hofer is the candidate of the Freedom Party of Austria (FPOe) in the repeated election.
In May, Hofer lost with the narrowest margin to Greens’ leader Alexander Van der Bellen.
However, due to problems in the calculation of the votes sent by mail the Austrian Constitutional Court cancelled the election.
Zeman has welcomed the step and backed Hofer.
“I do not deny that I sided with Hofer because I do not like Greens’ parties,” Zeman has said.
The repeated election will be held in Austria on October 2.
Like Zeman, Hofer is an opponent of the acceptation of migrants.
