Prague, Dec 13 (CTK) – Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka (Social Democrats, CSSD) called on Tuesday on Finance Minister Andrej Babis (ANO) to personally see to it that the priorities of the Transport Ministry will be fulfilled in time because Babis disagrees with a change at the ministry’s head.

Babis said Daniel Tok (for ANO) took over the ministry in a bad condition.

With the meeting with Babis, Sobotka completed assessment meetings with the members of his government one year before the four-year term of the team expires in autumn 2017.

Sobotka said he and Babis also spoke about the work of other ANO ministers.

“My opinion of his (Tok’s) operation is different (than of others), more critical,” Sobotka told journalists.

He said that in connection with the replacement of two CSSD ministers, he called on the heads of the government partners, Babis and Pavel Belobradek (Christian Democrats, KDU-CSL) to consider exchanging´some of their ministers.

According to the coalition agreement, Sobotka cannot replace ANO and KDU-CSL ministers without agreement of the parties’ heads.

They refused to do so, by which they took over responsibility for their work, Sobotka said on Tuesday.

ANO also holds the defence, justice, environment and regional development ministries.

Babis told journalists that he considers the opening of the last section of D8 motorway, scheduled for December 17, Tok’s success.

The motorway has been built for more than 20 years.

“The ministry has historically had too many ministers, we took it over in a bad condition,” he said.

Babis said he does not comprehend why the media permanently criticise Tok.
